Madison's Blanket - 15in crochet blanket


This one worked up fairly fast. I especially like the border :)

Yarn used for blanket in photo:
I Love This Yarn Soft Pink
I ran out at the border so I bordered this with a Caron Simply Soft pink

Materials
4ply yarn
H hook
Scissors
Yarn needle


Pattern Abbreviations
ch = chain
sk = skip
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
sl st = slip stitch


PATTERN
Chain 45
 
Row 1Hdc in 3rd ch from hk, hdc in next ch, * sk 2 ch, (hdc, ch1 , hdc) in next ch, repeat from * across, ending with 1 hdc in each of the last two chains, ch3, turn

Row 2
Sk 1st dc, 3 dc in ch 1 space and in each ch 1 space across row, 2 dc in last stitch (top of ch 3), ch 2 turn
 
Row 3
Skip 1st stitch, dc in next stitch, sk 1 dc, (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in next stitch. This should be the middle stitch of 3 dc group on the previous row, *sk 2 dc (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in next stitch, repeat from * across (you should always be working in the center stitch of the 3dc group on the previous row, 2 hdc in last two stitches (one dc and top of ch2), ch 3 turn

Repeat rows 2 - 3



BORDER (worked in rounds)
 
Round 1
Ch 1, sc in corner, ch 3, sc in space between 3 dc group, ch 3, repeat across all edges (on sides you can sc in dc rows), sl st to first sc, sl st into ch 3 space

Round 2
(darker pink)
Ch 2, 2 hdc in same ch 3 space, 3 hdc in next ch 3 space and in each around blanket, CORNERS: 3 hdc in sc
sl st to starting ch 2

Round 3
(darker pink)
Sl st to center stitch of 3hdc group, ch 3, 4 dc in same st, sk to next 3 hdc group, sc in center stitch, in next hdc group 5 dc in center stitch repeat around blanket sl st to first ch

Finish blanket by weaving in ends


I made this one using a 3 ply and a g hook and its perfect size for under 18 weeks :)
