Donation to two special babies

On my IC support forum a set of twins were born at 25 weeks and 2 days. They inspired me to send their mother a blanket and hat set for each of them.

For the little girl Gabrielle Addison I already had a blanket, the special white one with pink trim that I loved the moment I made it, I'm happy it's going to have a good home. I remade the bonnet to match it and then made a blue blanket for her brother Jerome Edward.

Jerome Edward

Both of these little ones were born weighing 1lb 10oz. The family is asking for prayers to help them through what will be a long struggle in the NICU.

Another Two New Sets

I have been so busy with making miscarriage blankets and a blanket for our future little one that I haven't made a set or even a hat in awhile. So yesterday and today I did these for the box :)

Miscarriage Blankets

WOW did a WHOLE bunch of orders come in this week! I finally broke $100 just in donations from the blankets which means we are now at a grand total of $134.75 :)

I want to say THANK YOU to prettylilditty for advertising for me ;)

Another Set :)

A yellow set. This doll is a little too big for this dress so it looks a little more holey than is should :\ But this is the only doll I have in this size.

Two New Sets

I have been crocheting this whole time just slow at posting :) I also have been mainly doing hats and miscarriage blankets. I did however get a BIG box to put all my current finished projects in it :)

This one is just a hat and blanket.

This has to be one of my favorite dresses thus far. It's for about a 22 weeker. I want to enlarge it though for a bigger infant. I didn't realize it was so tiny when I first started it. (not the head on this doll is weirdly large so the hat will look a little bit better on a real baby with a normal head thats not shaped like a square)

I love pictures of the booties for some reason :)

HATS!

I've been forgetting to add the hats here as I do them I do add them to my Raverly page, just not here :\ So here they are now:

!

Another Blanket and Hat Set :)

I have a ton of blankets at this point that I bought from the Salvation Army, now I just need to get working on making matching hats and booties for them. But this set I made all on my own. I used a large hook for the blanket so it went kind of quick. It sort of turned out more rectanglish than I wanted, but it works :)

Miscarriage Baby Blanket

I have been for the past month selling miscarriage remembrance blankets through ebay to raise money for the march of dimes. With Kaitlin I had a whole bunch of things to help me cherish her forever, but those who have a miscarriage don't so I wanted to do something to give back and help raise my goal of $1,195 for next years walk :) Here are some of the blankets I've made thus far for grieving parents. They range from 8 weeks in size to 12 weeks. One was even sent to England :) I have thus far only raised $12, but it's a start. EBAY auctions can be found here:

More Hats

Here's another batch of hats. I was trying to use some scrap yarn, which is why many of them are in the same color. :)

This is a quick little set I made, no blanket to match just hat and booties.

Larger Baby Set

This set is for closer to a full term little one, perhaps a *little* bit smaller, but not much. The booties would be the only problem item...but they are kind of stretchy. The blanket is the first blanket I ever made, and I was going to keep it, but now I have so many ideas for OTHER blankets in my head, that really there isn't a point. I will I am sure make larger blankets for my future little ones, so this one should go to another mommy.

Another Batch of Hats :)

This is another set of hats that are ready to go. I've been using up little balls of scrap yarn. YOu would be surprised how little of a ball makes some of these hats :) The middle one was made with yarn I got from a fellow knitting buddy :) Thanks Stephanie :)

3 hour set :)

This took about 3 hours to do :) Maybe a little longer, but really just an afternoon. The blanket was about a movie's length. I was watching "Raising Helen" while making it. This doll is slightly bigger than Molly. Her name is going to be Sabrina :) Don't know why. She's bigger than a 24 weeker but smaller than a 30 so lets call her a 27. I made this with one skein of Baby Cloud yarn by Red Heart, it used a whole skein. If you would like the patter see below.

Pattern for the blanket:
crochet hook: 10.mm
chain 30
sc in second chain from hook and sc across row, ch 1 turn, repeat for 5 rows.
~chain 2 more , dc across row, ch 1 turn
sc across row, ch 1 turn, repeat for 5 rows
repeat from ~ 4 times
work in ends

Pattern for hat:
blue preemie hat loom
loom hook
hat is simple e-wrap for 18 - 20 rows depending on
the amount of yarn you have left.
(I didn’t make any brim for this hat, just all e-wrap)
Finish as you would any hat at the top and work in ends.

FAVORITE Set

Oh I almost don't want to donate this one!! It's for a 24 week baby though, so I have to because it would only be good for dolls here...and it should go to a baby...because it's SO stinking beautiful! I used the bonnet from below and the booties that I made to match and then made a blanket...the blanket is a simply two rows of HDC then a row of SC then 2 rows of HDC, etc etc...then I put on it a light pink fringe and added rose colored ribbon...all I can say is GORGEOUS!

Another Dress Set

This set is only a dress and a hat. I'm thinking that all my future sets will be either hat + dress/sweater OR hat + booties and blanket. This one is my favorite dress to date. I added a button to the back along with the ribbon to tie it closed, so it will be nice and easy to put on. It's pink baby yarn so it's also nice and soft. I just think it's absolutely adorable :)

Onsie Set

Here is a onsie that I bought at Walmart for only $1! So i thought I would make a matching hat for it :)

I might add a blanket at some point to it...which will mean more pictures :)

Hats, Hats, Hats!

Here is another batch of hats that I have done :)

Another Whole Set :)

Here is a set for a little girl :) This one doesn't have a blanket, just a dress, hat and a set of booties. It's for a baby about 1lb larger than Kaitlin's size which is about Joshalynn size.

Preemie Bonnet

Here is my second preemie bonnet. The pattern can be found here.
I changed the hook size for this bonnet, since the first one seemed REALLY small, but according to my measurements it would in deed fit a 1 pounder. I intend on messing around with this pattern more, but two are done and ready to go :) Did I mention that this is Molly making her first appearance on the blog. I have no idea HOW I came up with Molly :)

First Larger Blanket Set!!

I used Joshalynn to model these since she's about the size of a 29-30 weeker. Did I mention that I have two other dolls now to help me model? They need names...hmmm I will ponder that one ;)

I even have a larger teddy bear to go with these sets as I make them!! I made booties! I'm so proud! I followed a pattern! (well not for these, I followed a pattern for a different booties and them promptly altered it for these, I don't know why I do that!)

The measurements are (roughly):
blanket - 28 inches by 28 inches
hat - 16 in circ and 5 1/2 in tall
booties - 4 1/2 in long by 2 1/2 in wide with a 6 in opening for the foot.
