Here's another blanket from the 15 inch blanket project :) This one came out a little bigger (more like 16 - 17 inches)
This pattern is sweet for a little girl but I think if you altered the border to just be a DC all the way around it might be nice for a little boy as well :)

Hdc in each stitch around edge of blanket evenly, you might want to put 2hdc in some of the ch3 along edge, 3 hdc in each corner.
Round 2
(pink)
Sl st into any corner stich, chain 3, 3dc in same stitch, *sk 2, sl st, sk 2 5dc in same stitch, *repeat from * around entire blanket. CORNERS, it's best if lines up for the 5dc in each corner but it might not, you can also put 2dc in 3-4 stitches going around corner or only sk 1 space before and after sl st, etc.
Finish blanket by weaving in ends
As always here are a few more examples of this pattern :)
This one I just messed with the row colors some. I did have to add an extra row to make the colors even. |
Danita did this lovely example, uses the same row color changes as listed in the pattern just done with a variegated and two solids. |
